Today, the eyewear assortment of an optician store, in eyewear wholesales or at the manufacturer's is managed via software. Accordingly, eXtra4 concentrates on offering eyeglass labels that can be inscribed with computer-controlled data via label printers. In most cases a thermal transfer printer is used.

The ideal label for opticians

What opticians want from a eyeglass label is almost always the same: it should carry the price and all important information, but be as small as possible. It should be reliably attachable to the spectacles, be easy to remove if necessary, and then be possibly attached again. The lettering must not fade in sunlight or heat. It must survive the multiple fitting of glasses by customers undamaged. And last but not least, the labelling of glasses should be as easy as possible. - Our solutions are as varied as requirements placed on optician's labels.

Eyeglass Temple Labels

Labels for gluing into the frame temples of spectacles

This type of eyeglass label is affixed lengthwise to the frame temple. The labels are usually extremely narrow, because they have to fit as many different frames as possible. They are often arranged in pairs so that both temples can be labeled together: on one label the barcode, on the other the product data and price.
The narrow shape requires a small adhesive area. To ensure that the labels still adhere reliably, we manufacture eyeglass temple labels exclusively with permanent adhesive.
 

        
 

 

Eyeglass Labels with Loop

Loop labels for spectacle frames of any kind

Eyeglass labels with loop are very well adaptable to spectacle frames with varying temple sizes, because the loop can be fixed in variable lengths. They are available in two basic shapes: with marking areas crosswise or lengthwise to the loop.
Self-adhesive loops are often explicitly required for labelling spectacle frames. The labels can thus be fixed to the temple and do not run the risk of accidentally sliding down. However, special emphasis is placed on a loop without glue if remnants of glue on the frame are to be avoided. Our range of eyeglass labels with a loop therefore includes labels with adhesive and non-adhesive loop.

Eyeglass Temple Riders

Labels to slide onto frame temples

Eyeglass temple riders are made of 300µm thick rigid PVC, are not self-adhesive and available in white or transparent.
The label is stiff yet flexible enough to allow temples of various sizes and shapes to be easily inserted through the two openings. The material tension and the serrated edges of the openings ensure a good fit on the temples. Nevertheless, the label remains movable and can be repositioned as required.
 
Eyeglass temple riders made of rigid PVC are suitable as carriers for self-adhesive labels which are marked in the label printer. Suitable rectangular shapes can be found in our range for eyeglass labels and also in the area of pad labels for jewellery, however, eyeglass temple riders can also easily be written on by hand directly with permanent markers.
 
        
 

Eyeglass Lens Labels

Labels for labelling spectacle lenses

Labels used to apply to spectacle lenses should ideally be removable without leaving any residues. Glueless adhesion material is therefore ideal for eyeglass lens labels. It sticks reliably to smooth surfaces such as cut glass or plastics, without the use of any glue.
 
Adhesive eyeglass lens labels can be produced in any shape. They can be individually markeded in a thermal transfer printer as well as professionally printed, even in a glossy metallic look.

       
 

 

Passes for Eyeglasses

Card labels as individually printable passports for glasses

Eyeglass passports consist of a non-self-adhesive foil compound. They are punched into the continous web as card labels via microperforation. Along these fine dividing lines, the eyeglass passes in credit card style can later be separated one by one from the web. Smooth and flexible, with a glossy surface, the cards are well in hand.
The imprint of individual data of the respective eyeglasses takes place in the thermal transfer label printer. We recommend our label printing software "eXtra4" with corresponding layouts for controlling the printout.
 
The front side of the eyeglass passes can be designed representative in any corporate design. The preprint is produced using professional printing. We produce large print runs of 5,000 pieces or more using analogue processes. We offer a low-cost solution for small runs from 250 or more eyeglass passes via 4-colour digital printing.
